It pains me to report that the world has lost another giant of orchid science, Dr. Calaway Dodson. He was a pioneer of South American orchidology, beginning his fieldwork here in He was also the director of the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens from to , where he mentored and began a lifelong collaboration.
